A Family Tradition
In 1971, Wayne Crawford started the company as Wayne Crawford Siding, Windows & Gutter. He was following in his father’s footsteps, who was also a siding contractor and trained Wayne as a young boy. Together, with his wife Dee and their two sons, Rick and Pat, Wayne opened a showroom and warehouse in historic downtown Topeka, near the state capital. For the next 30 years Wayne and his crews, many of whom were family, grew the business and established a reputation of being an honest contractor with the highest quality installers in the area.
Wayne joined his wife in retirement in 2001. The following year their son Rick passed away unexpectedly. At that time, Wayne’s youngest son Pat took over the daily operations of the business. Wayne passed away in 2006 from a short battle with cancer. Pat and his wife Tonya continue to run the business as Crawford Siding, Window & Gutter, LLC with their employees, many who have been with the company for close to 20 years.
In 2006, Pat moved his family to Lawrence and began to make a mark as a preferred contractor in the community. Pat and Tonya have two sons, one who recently graduated from Lawrence Free State High School and will attend KU in the fall of 2020 to study film. Their youngest son is a freshman at Lawrence High School and is a competitive baseball player in Kansas City.
